Intro to encaustic workshops give students a hands on introduction to the medium. Sarah will provide demonstrations of a variety of work methods with the encaustic, which will then be followed by hands on work time. We will cover the basics of studio safety, workspace set up, fusing methods, as well as basic painting and materials methods. This workshop is a great way to get a taste of the medium in a condensed format before diving into a longer format workshop or class. All paints and tools will be supplied for use.
Students bring:
1-2 Ampersand Encausticbords no larger than 11x14
Roll of blue painters tape (3m brand)
Roll of paper towels
